Series 4 Minifigs: The Hunt Is On

Written by Emilyjem

Topics: Shopping

The hunt is on for Series 4 Minifigures on Australian shelves, with forum users reporting they’ve been spotted in Toyworld Southland, Myer Melbourne and one Target store. It seems like the stock will be limited to start with, so if you see them, snap them up! No luck at my local Target today, but hopefully they’ll turn up before the 20% off sale finishes.

Series 4 are in a distinctive orange box and the Australian RRP is $4.99. Unfortunately the horrible “bump” id system that was used in Series 3 is still in effect (here’s a cheatsheet) but many have found the good old fashioned “feel the bag” to be just as effective.

And of course, you can always forgo the thrill of the chase and buy online.

Happy hunting!

Expect lots at target – I saw about 10 boxes of them ready to go on the shelves for tomorrows 20% off.

  2. Plenty in stock with us at the moment. $3.99 each, 3 for $10 and sealed box for $200 – all day every day.

  3. LegoFan says:

@outer rim, how much is the shipping cost to Sydney for a box of 60?

  4. @LegoFan: $10 flat rate, even if you buy 2 ;)

  5. Stacy says:

@Outer Rim, Can you do specific orders for minifgs? Or are they sent out randomly? Also, how much is shipping for the triple pack to Brisbane?
    Thanks

  6. Razo says:

Didnt see any at Target Rhodes during my lunch break. :(

  7. Steve Wa says:

saw some for $4.50 at Mindgames Hawthorn

  8. Damian says:

    Nothing at Target Indooroopilly (Brisbane)…yet

Based on previous sales, they’ll probably roll out about 4pm next Wed just before the sale ends!

  9. eman says:

has anyone found them in the sutherland shire ???????

  10. leonfudge27 says:

Lots seen at Target Chady (Victoria) – 20% off.

    Have fun! :)

  11. Charlie says:

Stores have probably received stock, but I just don’t think that they think it’s a priority to get the stock out for sale. How wrong can they be.

  12. LegoFan says:

No signs of minifigures at Target Bankstown. Heaps of city space lego including the rocket launch pad at $94.

  13. Tim says:

Found 4 boxes at Myer Elizabeth, SA. Now they have two left as I put two on Layby.

  14. @Stacy S4 figs are sent randomly but are available individually once the next set comes out (individual S3 figs are now available for example). Shipping for the triple pack would just be $5.55

  15. James Hanlon says:

Got my whole set from Target Chermside (in Brisbane), though annoyingly they have the on the impulse buying racks in the line for the checkouts. I picked up a case and took them elsewhere to sort through. 16/16, perfect result! I think it a little lame that they did another skateboarder though, (could they have done a girl at least?)

  16. Charlie says:

I think some of the figs repeated (skateboarder) are also to help people with city scapes. I’d hate to do a skatepark and have 10 skaters all look the same with the same boards. I quite like the fact that I can get different looking figs doing the same thing for my city.

  17. R7 says:

Syd City Myer has about 3/4 box at the toys cash register ($4.95)’

  18. Exigent says:

Hey guys, are the bump codes hard/easy to identify?

  19. Smooth Criminal says:

Got my box from Germany via Bricklink total of $134.40 AU. (+P&H)
No signs yet of series 4 in Perth stores yet.

  20. Roger says:

Has anyone seen any Brisbane Southside? most stores are swimming in Series 3 stock still…

  21. brickie says:

Toyworld at Capalaba has a box on the shelf

  22. Andrew says:

Series 4 Mini figures are in Target Geelong (Vic), both stores, all $3.92

  23. Stacy says:

I’m with Roger here, every store that sells Lego around here has at least a full 2 boxes of Series 3 floating around on the shelves. They just can’t move them at the $5. My local Big W had about 6 full boxes of S3 figures, last week.

  24. Charlie says:

Stacy, so true. Everywhere I’ve been looking for S4 has heaps of S3 leftover because of the price hike. My local Toys R Us just got S3 a couple of weeks ago and haven’t shifted many because those that did want them got them early. But to TRU credit they are only $3.99.

  25. Melissa says:

    Myer Wollongong has a box

  26. Melissa says:

Uncle Petes at Wollongong also has a box and are selling for $3.99 . Myer has them at $4.95

  27. Camo says:

david jones macarthur square has a box and selling at $3.95, i got full set

  28. Matt says:

Got to the Target in Ballarat today…only 6 bags left of series 4. Snatched them up and got no duplicates. Then for fun the wife and I dropped by the Toyworld and they had 2 full boxes of Series 4 and 2 full boxes of series 3.

  29. Rich says:

Target Rouse Hill have a whole barrel of them (mixed with S3) at $3.92

  30. YadaYadaYada says:

Target Burwood had 7 boxes today. They’d been rifled through though but I still managed to get everything I wanted. Some of the bump codes had been cut off the bottom of the packets :(

  31. Stacy says:

What do mean cut off? A manufacturer cut or some idiot?

  32. Dianne says:

New Toyworld in Sydney Rd Brunswick (former Holeproof bargain store) has a big range of Lego, and S4 minifigs on Thursday. Plenty of boxes on special at Target Highpoint on Friday night, & heaps of S3′s too.

  33. Azz says:

A few boxes at K-Mart in Brunswick, Vic. The other week they had heaps of S3. Wonder what they’ll do with those that they dont sell.

ALSO- I picked up a Hazmat guy but the bump guide list was slightly off so be careful guys.

  34. Wokajablocka says:

Foung 1 box at Target Campbelltown, great with the 20% discount at the moment. Had 2 boxes of series 3 as well.

  35. YadaYadaYada says:

@Stacy – Some of the packets seemed to have the bump codes cut off by the manufacturer… I’m not sure if that was deliberate or accidental.

  36. Charlie says:

Got half a dozen packs this afternoon from Toyworld Townsville. Only $4 each there. Which is unusual, as they were originally the dearest of everyone. Still none at the target stores.

  37. LegoFan says:

Thanks YadaYadaYada for the news. Picked up 10 minifigures at Target Burwood. Still got 4.5 boxes in the Toy section (not at the checkouts).
They still have a few S3 minifigures for sale.

  38. Stacy says:

Target Springwood had about a third of a box of S4 left this afternoon, I was lucky I got the musketeer and mad scientist in the first two I picked up. I don’t know if they have anymore out back though. Still had a heap of S3 though, and tied with the 20% off, they go for $3.92. Not bad.

  39. MattL says:

Target Mildura had only one box on the shelf over the weekend. I managed to secure a full set minus the ‘lawn gnome’ and ‘viking’. However I went back today and they got two full boxes out for me – the ‘viking’ was the first one I picked up – and the gnome is easy to feel and find. I did notice that there were three ‘mad scientists’ in the one box – I’ve read online some distribution counts saying that there are only two per box – however I end up checking both boxes and found three in the second also. – I picked up a couple of extra ‘hazmat men’ as they’re my favourite from this series. The feel method has been fairly easy for this series.

What have you found easy or hard to find?

  40. Camo says:

Hazmat guy is so easy to find and Mad scientists also (because of the soft hair piece), I found that none of them were to hard to find!!!

  41. Charlie says:

Bought 10 more from Target this morning, only got 4 new ones and without trying got 2 Hazmat guys. Has anyone seen 3661 Bank and Money Transfer anywhere? It’s supposed to be released by now I’m sure.

  42. AUSSIE says:

found at target and kmart series 3 and 4 Newcastle NSW

  43. Peter says:

Charlie — I saw 3661 at K-Mart on the weekend. It had “Special edition” or something printed on the box, so maybe it’s a K-Mart only type deal?

  44. Trevor says:

@ Peter… hmmm that’s some great news about 3661 what K-mart did did you see them? I’ve been stopping by my local almost every day waiting for them to go on the shelves

  45. Charlie says:

Thanks Peter, will definately check them out today after work. Cheers.

  46. Peter says:

I live on the Sunshine Coast up in Queensland, and yeah, the K-Marts up here have about 10 or so on the shelves at the moment.

  47. David Martin says:

Target has 20% off toys from Thursday 14 April

  48. Camo says:

has anyone seen Mace Windu’s Jedi Starfighter 7868, its an exclusive set so its hard to track down

  49. LegoFan says:

@ Peter, how much is it for lego 3661 at Kmart?

  50. Dean says:

They are available online at http://www.ozbricks.com.au
You get to choose which minfigure you want rather than random selection.

  51. Peter says:

    @Legofan — the 3661s I’ve seen have all been $89.

  52. Charlie says:

I got my 3661 today from my local Kmart. Love the set, but am a bit disheartened by the cost for the size of the set. I’m afraid, I’ll be cutting back on the spending this year, especially when I got another 2 bloody musketeers (yeah I’ve got Three Musketeers). Sadly my touchy feely method of the bags didn’t work except for the Ice Skater.

  53. LegoFan says:

Thanks Peter. Will visit my local Kmart tomorrow.

  54. thedeeredog says:

YAY !! Received my box of series 4 figures today from Justbricks.com.au

  55. Peter Smith says:

@Charlie — yeah, I generally don’t use the feel-method for figuring out the minifigs, I’m not that good at identifying the minifigs by touch (except for the obvious unusual pieces, like the Gorilla’s banana, or the Geisha’s skirt). Which is why the barcodes and dots were so important, you know? I’m jealous of your three musketeers, though :) .

  56. Charlie says:

Seeing as Target have continued with 20% off for another week, I’ll try for a few more. Need 5 more for the set. Also get another 5% off for working at Coles. Just a shame that the Bank set wasn’t available at Target during the sale.

  57. Trevor says:

@ charlie i saw over on EuroBricks that Coles workers will get double team member discount 10% off instead of 5% http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=19244&view=findpost&p=966978

  58. Charlie says:

Thanks Trevor, I just wish they (work)would tell us that. They used to put a notice up in the lunch room. Brilliant. Hopefully I can “touchy feely” the other 5 figures I need. Need to remember that the bone in the werewolf is NOT the trophy in the Soccer Player. I get a bit embarressed by molesting bags of minifigures in the toy aisles.

  59. Charlie says:

Tried the “molestaminifig” method again, and got 3 of the 5 i needed, will try the other target where you can squeeze in private.

  60. LegoFan says:

My local Target has 2.5 boxes of S4 minifigures at the checkout (not at Toys section). Picked up 2 musketeers from a fresh new sealed box using the dot method, no ‘molestaminfig’. One of the boxes is still sealed. My local Kmart has 10 boxes of Lego 3661 at $89 and 0.5 boxes of S4 minifigs at the Toys section.

  61. Hi guys,

Collect and Play now have series 4 Collectable Minifigs in stock!

April discount is still on (you will need to find the code in these forums).

    Cheers.

    Lorenz

  62. Patty says:

Just to let everyone know, every purchase this weekend at http://www.justbricks.com.au gets a free Lego Collectible Minifig!

    Brick On!

  63. Cam says:

Whats with all the spammers on here now?

Anyway, I have managed to get 14/16 from target with 3 doubles.
First trip was 9/10. just random pick
    Second trip 3/5. bump codes
    Third trip 2/2. Feel method.

All from Target on special except one from Toyworld
Still chasing a punk rocker and mad scientist.

Toyworld in the myer centre were happy for me to go through a few boxes looking. The girl was even helping me when she was waiting for customers.
They had 8 boxes sitting behind the counter. $4.99. Not as cheap as Target, but target was almost out.

  64. Cam says:

Managed to get the last two this morning.
I found them quite hard to feel out.

Target Brisbane City had at least 5 new boxes out near the registers.

  65. Charlie says:

I was only needing the Hockey player and today noticed my local Big W had about 15 S4 left in a box, so in private squeezed away, and couldn’t find one with a Hockey Stick, so squeezed for the ice skates hoping it wasn’t the woman one. Success! Got my Hockey Player, so now have the full set. Phew, no more having to molest the packets in the toy aisles.

  66. Charlie says:

PS. Till Series 5 that is.

  67. EJ says:

    Hi everyone,

My boyfriend loves lego and seems to have missed the fact that the series 4 minifigures are out. I want to get him a few for Easter, but I have to get them today and from somewhere near work. I’m thinking my best bet is KMart. I just called and the person I spoke to doesn’t even know what a Lego Minifigure is… Does anyone know whether KMarts in Brisbane, QLD have them in stock yet??

    Thanks :)

  68. Charlie says:

Kmart in Townsville does, so Brisbane should. But they are $5 there. My local Toyworld is only $4 and Target/Big W are around $4.75. Sadly product knowledge isn’t a job requirement these days.

  69. EJ says:

Thanks Charlie! Fingers crossed. They seem to be getting more and more expensive, but since I don’t have time to shop around I can live with the price tag!

  70. SuperWAGs says:

I saw that Hobbyco in the QVB Sydney have series 4. They only had one box of series 3 and one of series 4 on display at the upstairs counter, but who knows how many they have. I only saw from a distance and didn’t enquire as to price, but they generally sell stuff at the same as S@H prices.

Given that Hobbyco is a model and collectables shop I would have thought they were excellently placed for selling more of the specialised bits and pieces (eg power functions gear). Though they tend to just sell the run of the mill.

  71. David says:

Just returned from Singapore were I was able to get 12/16. The price was 3.90 Singapore dollars (approx 2.91 AUD) which was the RRP. Cannot but think that we are being price gouged with the Australian pricing.

  72. Legoofme says:

Hey EJ – in Brissy you can get them at Target and Big W but I didn’t go into Kmart so not sure about that one.

  73. Legoofme says:

Also, anyone in Brissy need a swap? I was in a rush and just grabbed a handful, plus its a bit weird to be feeling up bags when they place them right next to the queue area! I ended up with 1 geisha, 2 guys with a trophy, guitar guy spare today. I still need musketeer, surf chick, evil scientist, iceskater and biohazard.

I’ve also got 2 samurais from series 3 and was looking for sumo.

  74. javeria says:

help i cant find the skater i looked every where on the shake it up website

  75. collman says:

    its avalible at hobbyco
