LEGO® Advent Calendars are always a popular purchase, both for the kids, who adore getting a new mini LEGO® set every day for a month, and for the AFOLs, as they often contain pieces and minifigures that are hard to get elsewhere. This year LEGO® have released 2 advent calendars: the traditional 7553 City Advent Calendar and, for the first time, 7958 Star Wars Advent Calendar. Plus it’s still possible to get advent calendars from earlier years from online stores and Bricklink.
7958 Star Wars Advent Calendar

Includes 8 minifigures, including an exclusive version of Yoda. Also includes mini Millennium Falcon and X-wing Starfighter. 266 pieces.

7553 City Advent Calendar hasn’t appeared yet anywhere in Australia. None of the online LEGO® stores have it in stock, except for LEGO® Shop@Home which has it for $30 plus $30 postage. A better deal is the recent one in the LEGO® Club newsletter – still $30 but only $14 postage. There are no Australian Bricklink sellers stocking it but a few international ones. It’s also available at Amazon.fr for EUR24.76 (~AU$33). I’ll do a rundown on 7553 when some make it to Aussie shores!

well done. Thanks for the comprehensive coverage, emilyjem.
Thanks for helping to make Lego more accessible and cheaper here-love your site & news!
Myer my toys sale catalogue is out now. sale starts this thurs. no sign of star war advert calendar. disappointing sale imo – only selected lego sets at 20% off including the much anticipated lego red cargo trains at $235.

city advent calendar is approx $30AUD inc delivery from uk (dvd.co.uk) and the star wars advent calendar is approx $42AUD from the same place.
Have not ordered the star wars one yet as am waiting for the finacial controller to release more funds!
Awsome thanks so much for this info. I might pick one of the city clanders from Lego with the newsletter discount.
@pocketdynamo where did you get the prices including postage? I cant find the postage prices on the web site. They do send to Australia but they only advertise free postage to the UK but no international postage rates, thanks.
@pocketdynamo Thanks for the dvd.co.uk news. I’ll add it to the list of international LEGO shippers!
i got the postage rates because i bought it! i just checked and my account and i paid $30.86 for the city calendar. however, price will depend on changes in exchange rate and intl ccard transaction fees.
Thanks pocketdynamo. I was wondering as I wnted to get a few things from there and wanted to know the exact postage. I might go through the ordering process and see how much it comes up to.
Ours is a little delayed, but worth the wait. First allocation will be at an introductory price of $39.99 and will then move slightly to only $44.99 for the second allocation. $10 flat rate shipping.

The Star Wars Advent calendar has turned up at Toyworld… Anyone seen it in Target?
the star wars advent calendars are only available at myers and toyworld. I got one from toyworld.
hi has anyone who bought the calendar from dvd.co.uk got theirs yet? im wanting to order, but want to make sure they are good.
Hi – dvd.co.uk sent me an email on 20 Sept saying generally arrives in 5-7 business days but can take up to 21 days.
no sign of it yet.
Cheers
Picked up some in Myer (Sydney CBD) yesterday for $49.95 each. They had about 30 sets on display.
Have received both my advent calendars from dvd.co.uk. They took about 2 weeks to arrive in the end.
Incidentally, I also got both the two winter village sets (bakery and toy shop) for $140 all up including delivery and they arrived in 4 days from amazon.fr!
@ pocketdynamo, what’s the packaging like from amazon.fr on your winter sets? did you use express shipping and how much did it cost? thanks
I used standard shipping.
Cost all up including freight for the bakery was $68 as I remember.
Normally, the freight is equivalent to the sales tax that gets taken off.
i.e. price was 49.90 EUR, when sales tax was removed and freight added it came to 48.90 EUR. Normally, if you multiple the price on the website by the exchange rate you get a fairly accurate cost.
Or, just go to buy it and see what the final cost is before you commit.
oh, the packaging was fine, standard Amazon. Nothing to complain about.
thanks
Myer Chadstone have them at RRP
I bought my Lego Star Wars advent calendar from the Lego shop next to Sydney Aquarium at Darling Harbour. It was $49.99.
I just brought the lego city advent calendar from fishpond.com.au for $26 free shipping – get in quick … limited stocks …
I’m stoked have been chasing this set for about two months and miss out everytime
Just bought the Star Wars Advent calander finally. I thought dvd.com.uk would have run out of stock by now but they still have some. After the conversion it worked out to be $47.34 including shipping, not too bad. Brick link have then starting for $35 Aus but shipping will kill you.
I also added the DK Lego Character encylopedia for about $18 afer the conversion to my order as well.
Christmas comes early to Adelaide…
big savings are to be had at the TOYWORLD in the Myer centre.
I saw today they have reduced both the City and Star Wars calendar down to $39.00. They would have 40 Star Wars calendars ready to walk out the door.
Star Wars Advent $33 at Myer 3 for 2 sale with a group buy
